Well done to the netball team, who performed superbly in the Dovestone Learning Partnership Netball Rally in May, making it through to the semi-finals.

The team played well throughout, never giving up and showed great determination and support for each other.

A fantastic achievement - well done all!

Greater Manchester Mini-Games

20th March 2018

Well done to all of the pupils who made it through to the Manchester School Games in our Swimming and Tag Rugby teams. You were great competitors and a real credit to our school.

Greater Manchester Primary Schools Cross Country Championships

Saturday 3rd February dawned very cold and very wet. You could say that these were typical cross country conditions! We were representing Oldham Schools at the Greater Manchester Primary Schools Cross Country Championships at Heaton Park.

We were both feeling very nervous but excited for the race. When we arrived, we registered with the Oldham team and were given our special “town” vests. I felt proud to be representing Oldham and wearing the town colours.

Before the races started, our coach Steve took us on a walk round and talked us through the course. It looked tough and confusing. There were lots of hills and lots of taped areas – it was hard to see where you were supposed to be running!

After we’d warmed up, it was time to gather at the starting line. The organisers had put us into “pens” according to our team so we all started together. We were held for a little while on the line and then we were off! There were about 130 boys running altogether – it was a little cramped and we got knocked about all over the place as we all fought to get a good start.

The course was very up and down and after having had the girls run on it before us, very muddy! Thank goodness for cross country spikes! We kept on battling and eventually came up the final hill to the finish line. Jack and I finished in very respectable 75th and 77th places.

It was a brilliant experience and I hope to be there again flying the flag for Delph and Oldham next year.
